Onboard M.2 slot for AI accelerators
PCIe, full 2280 length, for AI accelerator modules (Hailo-class NPU modules). The same slot also serves as an NVMe storage port.
Electronics · Starforge Mainboard V2
Starforge mainboards are designed and manufactured in North America as commercial off-the-shelf control electronics for OEM 3D printers, OEM CNC and general-purpose motion control, with ITAR/EAR-compatible configurations available. V2 builds on the shipping V1 board with an onboard slot for AI accelerator modules.
V2 · Confirmed changes
The accelerator slot is designed for on-machine AI: real-time analysis of print metrics and adjustment during the print, to improve print quality and prevent errors, without sending data off the machine.
PCIe, full 2280 length, for AI accelerator modules (Hailo-class NPU modules). The same slot also serves as an NVMe storage port.
A 5 A DC-DC rail feeds the accelerator slot, supporting modules drawing up to 10 W.
Ten driver sockets, up from eight on V1, for multi-axis and multi-extrusion machines.
RTC backup with a CR2032 cell.
A vertical MIPI DSI connector for the machine display.
Full specifications, imagery, compliance configurations and availability will be published here as they are finalized. Read the industry update for the background.
For machine builders
Starforge electronics, PrintSlice Pro and the white-label program are built to be specified together: a controller platform for the machine, and a slicer that ships under your brand with your machine profiles already in it.
